WIN Leadership, LLC is a leadership development training and education consulting company formed out of a passion to develop leadership skills in others. Located in Spring Lake, MI, my focus is on training and mentoring ground-level managers and supervisors to deliver improved results, both on an ongoing basis and during important change initiatives.
As a young facility manager, I discovered the importance of sound and consistent leadership up and down the organization. All of the turnarounds I undertook during my career lacked effective leadership at the operational level. In most cases, the existing leaders simply didn't understand how to effectively lead people. Many of those leaders weathered the turnarounds and became successful leaders in their new roles.
One reality learned through my experiences is that leaders are made not born. After 30+ years of managing facilities, I stepped away from operations to form WIN Leadership, LLC. My purpose is to reach and develop more leaders, sharing what I've learned. Throughout my career, I encountered a void of good, fundamental leadership development and training programs available to those wanting to invest in their ground-level leaders. I believe this is, in part, one of the primary reasons why we hear so much about “poor leadership" in so many businesses.
At WIN Leadership, I have taken what I’ve learned, from both my successes and my failures, and developed Decoding Leadership. The foundation of my program is a very teachable approach to leadership - The WIN Leadership Model (WLM). Decoding Leadership cuts through the rhetoric and mis-information surrounding the topic of leadership to clearly articulate what ground-level managers need to do to become better leaders. The WLM focuses on developing leadership fundamentals in managers and supervisors: the blocking & tackling of communication, accountability and performance management.
